Georgian Development Platform (GeoDP) held an online meeting with representatives of insurance companies and insurance associations. The meeting took place within the framework of the project “Development of the Universal Health Insurance Policy of Georgia”. Tengiz Shergelashvili, the chairman of GeoDP, introduced the preliminary results of the research part of the project to the professional society.

During the online meeting, the participants were presented with the preliminary results of the research prepared within the framework of the project, which related to the current situation in the field of health policy, health care system and health insurance of Georgia. Also, the representatives of the field presented an analysis of successful international experience in health insurance.

Within the framework of the project, desk research was carried out and information requested from public agencies was processed. Also, in-depth interviews were conducted with experts in the field and responsible persons of relevant state agencies.

At the same meeting, an online meeting was planned directly with the managers of the insurance companies, where the insurance component of the project will be presented and discussed.

In the future, it was planned to create a working group with the involvement of representatives of insurance companies and experts in the field, which at this stage will work on the universal health insurance package model and related issues.
