“Georgian Development Platform” (GeoDP) is a non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entity that was officially established on March 14, 2018, under the name “Building Movement”. In February 2021, a complete rebranding of the organization was carried out. The organization clearly defined its mission as a non-political organization, amended its charter and regulations. It is worth noting that a provision that prohibits the organization’s members from associating with any political figure was introduced.

The main directions of the organization’s activities are situational analysis and policy research in various fields, as well as public advocacy. As for the sectors of activity, the “Georgian Development Platform” has implemented projects in the fields of public policy, healthcare, business and education.

In particular, the organization implemented the project “Democracy through local partnership” (donor EED) in 2018-2020. Within the framework of the project, field meetings were held in villages and with interest groups (youth, medical sector, education, etc.) in 7 municipalities. Based on the meetings and analytics, local problems and needs were identified, relevant initiatives were prepared and presented to the local councils, and municipal council sessions were attended. Campaigns have also been conducted to address the issues, including preparing lawsuits, holding public hearings, creating petitions, and using other forms of advocacy.

In 2021, the organization has implemented a project (donor: Friedrich Ebert Foundation), within the framework of which research was conducted in the field of health, a “universal health insurance strategy” was prepared and its advocacy was carried out with interested representatives of the government, health care and insurance sectors.

In 2021, the organization has implemented a project (donor IRC/EU), within the framework of which the impact of two strategic documents of the Government of Georgia – “ SME Development Strategy of Georgia ” and “ VET Development Strategy of Georgia ” was monitored using a specially developed methodology.

In 2022, the “Georgian Development Platform” monitored the implementation of the anti-corruption recommendation of the European Union. The project “Monitoring and Advocating the Implementation of European Commission Recommendations” was financed by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Currently, the organization is implementing the project “Recommendations for the Healthcare System of Georgia” supported by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, which is a logical continuation of the project funded by the same donor and carried out in 2021.

In addition, nowadays “Georgia Development Platform” is working on the project “Sustainable, open and accountable civil society organizations for the development of Georgia” supported by the Institute of Civil Society.
