The Georgian Development Platform (GeoDP) held a meeting with some of the political parties within the cycle of events “Health Strategy of Georgia”. The organization presented the recommendation project of the health strategy to the representatives of the parties in the social direction, thereby opening the discussion about the systemic reform of the country’s health care. The recommendation document was prepared within the framework of the project “Development of Universal Health Insurance Policy”, which was implemented with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES). At the meeting, the current situation in the field of health care was reviewed and a substantive discussion was held on the future of the country’s health care system.
Political parties expressed their desire for close cooperation. It was agreed that the discussion on the issues of health system reform will move to the mode of direct consultations with each interested party. The working meeting was attended by representatives of the parties “Citizens”, “For Georgia”, “European Georgia”, “European Democrats”, “Lelo for Georgia”, “Tribune”, “Republicans” and “Strategy Agmashenebeli”. The representative of “International Republican Institute” (IRI) attended the meeting.
