The “Georgian Development Platform” (GeoDP) held a working meeting with civil society representatives in the “Network of Centers for Civic Engagement” in Batumi within the framework of the project – “Support partner municipalities to effectively conduct participatory budgeting by FY2024”.
The civil sector was informed about the goals and objectives of the project. Also, the interim document of the communication strategy of the project was discussed in the working format. Interesting ideas were expressed about communication channels, topics and the planned face-to-face communication component with the population.
The civil sector welcomes the implementation of similar projects in Batumi and expressed full readiness for cooperation. According to them, within the framework of the participative budgeting component, it is desirable not to focus only on infrastructural projects. In the part of communication and dissemination of information, an opinion was expressed about the inclusion of recognizable faces in the campaign, which would contribute to the wide coverage of information about the project.
