The Georgian Development Platform (GeoDP) held a working meeting within the framework of the “Development of Universal Health Insurance Policy” project. During the meeting, the project team discussed the action plan and the details of the activities to be implemented in the near future.

At the first stage, it is planned to study and analyze the state health policy and the health care system, which includes the assessment of the universal health care program, municipal programs, and the availability of health care and medical services. In addition, the health infrastructure at the municipal level, the pros and cons of emergency medical care, and the medication problem will be examined in detail, involving the study of quality control, cost and availability of medications. Analysis of financial indicators at the micro and macro level is also planned.

A conceptual framework, state strategy and action plan for health care reform will be prepared within the framework of the “Development of Universal Health Insurance Policy” project.
